Training of Leaders (TOL) – DAY 5, 16.02.2016
How often there happen the situations that young people and leaders have plenty of ideas for the future projects, but at the same time, they are facing the lack of tools for the implementing those kind of activities.
Luckily, there are several resources aimed to provide a support for youth workers and leaders, and to give them the access to the tools that may be useful in the activities and projects they are participating in. In fact, this was the topic of the Day 5 of the European Youth Work Academy’s Training of Leaders. All those tools and resources that can be easily called a part of the everyday life of any youth worker, were presented by EYWA’s trainer Vojislav Vujić, the Executive Director of CET Platform (Serbia) and the youth worker with more than 10 years of experience in non-formal education.
As a result, the participants learned about:
- SALTO-YOUTH – A network of eight Resource Centres working on European priority areas within the youth field. As part of the European Commission’s Training Strategy, SALTO-YOUTH provides non-formal learning resources for youth workers and youth leaders and organises training and contact-making activities to support organisations and National Agencies within the frame of the European Commission’s Erasmus+ :Youth in Action programme and beyond.
- T-Kit – Thematic publications written by experienced youth trainers, easy-to-use handbooks for use in training and study sessions.
- Compas – A manual on human rights education with young people
- Compasito – A manual on human rights education for children; and others.
And since there’s no knowledge without pactice, the participants worked in the small groups, creating the toolbox for the future projects and activities.
Another productive day of European Youth Work Academy, and we are all one ste closer to becoming the skilled and experienced youth leaders. Looking forward to the following days of the project!
